New Art corridor

We are pleased to present Gabriell Kielland in our new Art corridor wich leads our guest to our speical design floor, the Ladies Floor! It's now five years since we launched our Ladies Floor and this Art cooridor is part of our celebration!
Gabrielle Kielland is a painter, illustrator and graphic artist. She lives and works in Oslo and attended the Oslo National Academy of the Arts from 1962-66. Since her first exhibition at Galleri Tanum in Oslo in 1979, Gabrielle’s work has been featured in more than 70 solo exhibitions around the world, including Galleri Brandstrup, Soli Brug, Telemark Fylkesgalleri, Galleri Osebro, Galleri Briskeby, Galleri Steen, Galleri Arctandria, Aalesund Kunstforening, Bergen Kunstforening and Kunstnerforbundet.
Her work is represented in both public and private collections, including the National Gallery, Bergen Billedgalleri, Arts Council Norway, Norsk Hydro, Statoil, Sel Municipality, Det Faste Galleri Ålesund, Troms County Municipality.
She is especially known for her pictorial interpretations of literary themes from Amalie Skram, Marguerite Duras and Sigrid Undsets Kristin Lavransdatter. In 2011 Gabrielle will be taking on Henrik Ibsen’s “Peer Gynt” as a festival exhibitor at the Peer Gynt Festival in Vinstra.
“Painting is all about courage. You need to be terribly brave to hold a mirror up to yourself. I paint people, what it’s like to be human, for better or for worse. You could say that I do not paint the exterior world, but the inner landscape. Feelings.”
