Kari Traa born January 28, 1974 in Voss, is a Norwegian freestyle mogul skier and clothing designer. Kari began skiing moguls on the hills around her home in Voss, Norway when she was 15. She wanted to join the freestyle ski club in her area but was too shy and scared of not knowing people. One day Kari was invited to compete in a competition and she finished second. Two years later, she was competing for Norway at the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France.
Through her career as a professional freestyle skier she has won several Olympic titles and world championships.
In 2002 she launced her own clothing collection. Her design is original, with motifs from skiing, and the Norwegian countryside. Her design has been awarded the Design Excellency price by the Norwegian Council of Design.
